Sitting in the grass with the late afternoon sun on my face, almost ready to leave the east coast for the west side. It feels weird to sit here and write that we're almost on half of our trip already! I've been looking forward to it for such a long time when it seemed so far in the future that it feels kind of strange to be on half already!
So many things I have experienced in 3 weeks, New York City, the city that never sleeps (really it never sleeps,..) Washington DC learning some politics and visiting the white house to a small (I mean really,. small) village up in New York state to meet up and drink budweiser while sitting around a campfire discussing America's beauty and flaws! Everywhere we have been everyone is very curious to where we're from and very interested in our stories. European influcenses are found everywhere, people are very proud of their heritage but you also find a lot of very patriotic Americans. Its so fascinating to see the typical thing like 'state troopers', gigantic (!) meals and drinks (half a liter sodas where you see people actually getting a refill! Crazy!) overstated hypes, peanutbutter-filled-everything! The sun is slowing fading behind the trees, we're going to find a nice Mexican restaurant (already completely addicted!)
